VERY rough sketch of Aquafina I did today while at my dad's doctor's appointment. I'll replace it with the completed version soon :3

Color, shaded, background'd and everything! Holy crap this took forever and my poor computer sounds like it's about to die if I even open another tab! Okay, this is probably my favorite pony picture to date because of the detail I put into it (lawlz i added so much) and it's just so pretty to look at ;w; First time ever doing an underwater scene so, critique on the effects? 8D

Sketch done on Autodesk's SketchBook Express on the iPad 2 with a Belkin stylus.
Completed piece done on Photoshop CS5 with Wacom Intuos3 tablet.

WOW! that looks awesome! good job. sadly though, I can't add this to my favorites because it doesn't really look like the kind of thing I would love to see again. But still, you did great work.

anyway, its because of the picture's atmosphere. Although the pony seems very well drawn, the effects in the picture are dull. Its just light. And water. I know you worked hard on this, but more effects would make it better.

To be honest, I was afraid I would overdo it with too many effects so I dialed it down from my original idea ^^; I was going to include reefs, plant and animal life, maybe some underwater "mountains", but I thought it would draw the attention away from the pony, especially if I did them horribly. Hell I even thought the bubbles would be too much! I'm very wary when it comes to adding detail and backgrounds because of the fear of it being called "tacky" or "cluttered".

I might give it a try, see how it would've looked if I were to make it look more like she were in the ocean rather than just in a pool or something XD
